Ringworm

Ringworm sounds pretty bad. As if some ugly, shaped worm creature is crawling around some body’s skin. It is commonly seen among infants and young children. If a people just leave the ringworm and do not treat it, then the body would develop immunity over a few months or more.

It is however, best to treat ringworm. The fungus look like a ring or a coin sized blotch (one half to one inch in the diameter). It is near about scaly with a clear centre between. It can increase in size over time and might be itchy.

It can appear on the rump, face and head. If the rash is on the scalp or there are more than a few spots, then it is best doctor. Ringworm has really got a nasty name and rude appearance.

The cause of ringworm a fungal infection of the skin. The body’s natural immunity should kick in within 15 weeks but the rash will disappear quickly with topical treatment.

Treatment of Ringworm

Anti-fungal creams, used to treat jock itch will help to control the rash. However, a combination of lotrimin and cortisone, also known as lotrizone works more quickly. Within a few weeks the rash should begin to disappear. It’s very important to keep up an the treatment as long as directed since the ringworm is a fungus.

There are various home remedies known for Ringworm:-

(a) Original Clorox type bleach containing only sodium hypochlorite, and oridizer; that is safe to be used on human skin. Nowadays, lots of household bleaches products come with sodium hydroxide commonly known as powerful caustic agent that can burn holes in the skin.

Hence it should be discarded and bleach containing only sodium hypo -chlorite and water should be used. Person can use oil based bleach or water based. If the minced garlic comes pack in oil then water based bleach is used. Black walnut oil or vegetables oil is also used.

Mix oil of them in even proportions and apply topically at least twice a day. Continue to do it for about ten days after the symptoms disappear.

(b) If a person have ringworm, then he/she should but clear nail polish on it. Use of a Q tip should be made in order to prevent the infection on brush and then it is rubbed over the circle. It doesn’t really sting.

Person should later on peel it off with tweezers but it may hurt because of the hairs. It a person can’t use tweezers then he should just alternate with remover and soap and warm water. If may sting but its well worth it to get rid of it.

© Any anti fungal cream can be applied in a very generous amount on to the cushion of a band-aid that suits the size of the circle. Then the band-aid is put on to the circle. Don’t remove for 8 hours. Replace every 8 hours, with showers/Baths Band AIDS.

(d) Person should take shower with 1 part iodine to 1 part shampoo. After the shower, the clear nail polish is taken and applied and the black light is put on. Cover every spot and person will feel they are no longer contagious.

(e) Person should take the tobacco wet and put it on the infected area. It is repeated and then clear finger nail polish is applied.
