Exercises For Pregnant Women

Once the lady comes to know that she is pregnant, taking care of herself is the first and foremost responsibility of her. Because if she look after herself properly, then only her baby delivered will be healthy. Pregnant women get advice from everyone that is her doctor, family members, friends, co-workers and even complete strangers –about what she should and shouldn’t be doing.

First of all, the key to protect the health of the child is go get a regular prenatal care. First examination by doctor should be made during the first 6 to 8 weeks of pregnancy, that is when the menstrual period is 2 to 4 weeks late.

So, at this first visit, the doctor will figure out that how many weeks pregnant, the lady is, and hence he/she will use this information to predict the delivery date. Moreover, ultrasound performed during the pregnancy also helps to verify the date.

Women should visit to gynecologist, after every 4 weeks until the 28the week of pregnancy. Then she should visit to gynecologist after every 2 week until 36 weeks. Later on once a week until delivery.

Throughout pregnancy the doctor will check the weight and blood pressure and also check the growth and development of the baby. During the span of pregnancy, the lady will also have prenatal, tests, including blood, urine and cervical tests and at least one ultrasound is also done.

Diet for Pregnant Women

Women who are pregnant should try to maintain a well well balanced diet that includes lean meats, fruits, vegetables, while grain breads and low-fat dairy products. Pregnant women also need more of the essential nutrients, especially calcium, iron and folic acid.

Calcium is needed because the growing baby’s calcium demands are high, so the pregnant women should increase the calcium consumption to prevent a loss of calcium from her bones. Iron is necessary, because without enough iron, the body can’t make enough red blood cells and the body’s tissues and organs won’t get the oxygen they need to function well.

So it’s especially important for pregnant women to get enough iron in their daily diets-for themselves and their growing babies. Exercising during pregnancy has been shown to be extremely beneficial. Regular exercise can help to prevent excess weight gain, improve sleep, increase energy, improve outlook, and lessen recovery time.

It’s important top get enough sleep especially during the pregnancy during the pregnancy. Pregnant women’s body is working hard to accommodate a new life, so she will probably feel more tired than usual. Pregnant women should avoid alcohol intake.

Alcohol can lead to mental and physical birth defect in a baby. Alcohol is easily passed along to the baby, who is less equipped to eliminate alcohol than the mother. Pregnancy women who use drugs may be placing their unborn babies at risk for premature birth, poor growth, behaviour and learning problems.

Smoking is also harmful for pregnant women. The smoking mother passes nicotine and carbonmonxide to her growing baby. Hence, the pregnant women who continue to smoke, too. Hence, by following certain precautions, pregnant women can delivery a healthy baby.
