Normal Skin

The normal skin is neither oily nor dry. It has a soft and velvety texture. Colour glows under its translucent surface. The skin feels smooth, supple and elastic. A healthy normal skin is unblemished, velvety, smooth, and supple, with no enlarged pores and flaky dead cell.

To keep the glow forever it needs proper care. There may be occasional pimples in women just before menstruation due to increased hormonal activity, which makes the sebaceous glands overactive. Otherwise acne is not a problem of normal skin.

Care of Normal Skin

People with normal skin start showing signs of age and wrinkles sooner than others, if they neglect their skins. Daily cleansing, toning and nourishing are adequate care for normal skin. The normal skin should be cleaned at least twice a day with a mild baby soap and water and toned with rose water.

To retain the skin’s normal moisture a light moisturizer should be applied on the skin at night after cleaning it thoroughly. Direct exposure to skin should always be avoided as it absorbs the essential oils from the skin making it dehydrated and dull looking.

Face Packs for Normal Skin

Dip 100 grams of multani mitt in water. After two hours mix with water to form a paste. Apply on the face and neck. After half an hour wash the face with fresh water, it will clear pores and brightens the face

Mix together two teaspoons ground almonds, one-teaspoon rose water and half teaspoon honey into a paste and apply on the face. Leave it for 15 minutes and then rinse off with rose water.

Make a paste with a handful of basil, a handful of mint, a piece of cucumber and a handful of curry leaf and apply on the face and wash it off after some time

Mix together one-tablespoon lecithin, twp teaspoons peach and one teaspoon wheat germ oil into a paste and apply on the face and neck.
