Tips For Healthy Skin

The skin is the largest organ in the human body and is composed of cells that keep dying and are frequently renewed. Skin care is essential for the prolongation of youthful looks both for women and men.

A healthy skin is characterized by slight moisture, softness, flexibility, a slight acidic reaction and the absence of blemishes and other skin problems. A healthy skin must possess a smooth, fine-grained texture and soft to touch.

The exposure to sun, cold, rain, heat, wind and water are the natural factors affecting the skin. The condition of the skin varies with the weather. During winters the skin tends to become dry and flaky. The summer season makes the skin oily. Therefore, both the seasons require different treatments. Along with the natural factors the diet, living style are also some of the factors affecting the skin.

Skin Care

The three seasons have different affects on the skin. Thus, all the three require different treatment procedures.

Winter Care

The cold weather makes the skin rough, dry and hinders with the blood circulation. In such weather use of soaps should be avoided as it worsens the condition. Before going to bed clean the face thoroughly to remove the dust and dirt and cosmetics from the skin.

The face should be washed once a day with tepid water. To prevent the clogging of pores home facial should be performed once in a fortnight. At night and before going out in cold and dry weather one should apply a rich cold cream and moisturizer. For the excessive dry skin its beneficial to apply vitaminised face cream at night.

Monsoon Care

One should make a daily routine of cleansing, toning and moisturizing the skin. To avoid the puffiness of eyes the area around the ayes should be well moisturized at night daily. The excess of cream should be wiped off with the cotton ball or tissue after 30 minutes. Steaming the face with blemishes once a week helps in unclogging the pores of the skin.

Summer Care

The face should be washed twice a day with a mild soap. The face should be thoroughly cleansed before going to bed at night. For an excessive oily skin application of astringent is very important. Home facial should be performed once a week.

Home Facials

The first step towards the healthy skin involves thorough cleansing. The dust, grease, dirt, bacteria, perspiration, make-up should be completely removed from the skin. To cleanse the skin any cleansing cream, lotion, milk or a cold cream can be used. To remove the greasiness of the cleansing cream, wipe off the face with a damp cotton ball or a face tissue.

After cleansing, tone the skin with astringent or a skin tonic. Toning is important as it removes the greasiness of cleansing cream and refines the skin. After cleansing and toning the skin requires nourishing. The natural factors like dirt, dust, hot, cold weather and cosmetics wipes off the essential oil and moisture from the skin. To retain the moisture nourishing the skin is an essential part.

The other important step is the facial that is the quickest method to revive the skin. Facial keeps the skin soft, smooth and glowing with vitality. A regular facial once a fortnight ensures a youthful and fresh skin for a long time. Any light cream can be used for facial. The cream should be applied in dots all over the face and blend it thoroughly. Massage the face and neck in an upward direction. After facial a face pack is also essential. The pack should be selected depending on one’s skin type. The pack should be left for 15-20 minutes and later washed off with warm water.

Diet and Skin

Diet also plays an important role in providing a healthy glow to the skin. The skin renews the cells constantly. To enhance this change the cell movement should be encouraged by good circulation. The vitamin C helps in vitalizing the blood stream. So the diet should include good amounts of this vitamin. The other important vitamin

That should be included in the diet for the formation of healthy skin is vitamin B2. Fried and greasy foods should be avoided as they result in skin blemishes. Sweets, alcohol, starchy foods should also be avoided.

Proteins in the dairy products contain bacteria that keep the intestines clean and provide a healthy glow to the skin. Fibre is also an essential part of the diet as the fibre rich foods promote radiant glossy skin. Water also plays and important role in providing a healthy glow to the skin this will prevent the skin from getting dehydrated.
